August 22, 2023 SCNM Board Minutes

Motion to Approve May minutes approved

Carlos: Mateas is on board for Friday trainings and Saturday mornings.

Refs: Assuming Taylor is continuing as coordinator.  Recertify every year.

Boys Teams-Ken- 3 U9, 2 U10, 2 U11, 1 U12, 3 U15, the U14 Timbers need to rename

Girls Teams-Vicki-2 U9, 2 U10, 2 U11, 2 U12, 2 U15 (Flames going to the SW District B Team)

In-House-Steve- numbers on the low side.  U4 and U5=12 kids, U16=14 kids, U8=33 kids

Soccer Shots @ CSA due to low numbers?

Need to make 4-5 signs to put around town

Finance:

All-Star Game made $2,618

Low in checking: $22,930

Everything is paid to date except Carlos and John

Payment Plans-won’t know financing until after September

Fields:

Permits for SNIS (front) and SMS. Waiting on HS and Home Depot

Carlson Grove-no Sept. 10

Pettibone: blocked Oct. 7 and Nov. $

Next board meeting date: 1st week of October

Important Dates:

Practices begin August 28th

Coaches Meeting Aug. 30th. At least one coach needs to be present.

Sept. 9th In house begins

Sept. 17th Rosters Frozen

Winter Registration opening Oct. 1st

Winter Training begins Jan. 2024

Spring Registration Jan. 14, 2024

Spring Registration Jan. 14, 2024

District Websites (NW and SW) not using League Athletics anymore.  Now using Sports Connect

Coaches need to show up to district coaches meeting to understand new changes.  Prepare for a virtual meeting for our coaches?

Website: Meeting minutes need to be posted monthly

Columbus Tournament- RUSH using our fields: 2 HS and @ SNIS fields being used

Equipment: 

Goals-own SNIS (front), HD (U15 goals missing), Carlson (U12 and U15), Pettibone (U15), Northville (U15)-backs are cracked but salvageable.  Fix and move them?

Nets-repairable-suggest leaving a kit with ties at each field in case it needs to be repaired

Soccer Balls-didn’t get all balls returned to us, need to give game balls to U9 teams, need size 5 balls, need coaches shirts for younger teams-about 15 coaches

Uniforms: 20 girls without and 22 boys without

Leah and Nelson will follow up 

CT CUP; $100 entry fee per team the club will pay. U11 and up eligible

Roster Freeze- NW freezes rosters 2 weeks after season opens on Sept. 18th

Only new players can be added not double rostered already

22 kids on a roster

Fundraising/Sponsorships:

• Plaques being handed out
• Water bottles
• Sponsorship flyers being handed out
• Cookie dough and Braided bread fundraiser
• All Aboard Pizza Night
• Pictures are usually done 3rd week in but we need uniforms to do first.  Maybe the first week of October?
